Living By The Spirit
I want my life to bear fruit. Good fruit. Sweet fruit. Healthy fruit. Life giving fruit. I’m not interested in notoriety, popularity, or thousands following me or my ministry.
I want to be counted worthy of HIS calling according to the fruit of HIS spirit not my outward efforts. I want my fruit to look like love. I want my fruit to look like joy. I want to be long suffering, steadfast, and persevering. I want my life to be marked by kindness, goodness, and gentleness. I want to be one who is self controlled. This is the fruit that I want in my life. This is the work I strive for.
“Father, do YOUR will in me. Make me like you. I repent of and reject arrogance, conceit, self promotion, and selfish gain. Deliver me and keep delivering me from any remnants of greed or envy. I will have no other gods before You. I die, so you can live. Live in me Lord. And let my life bare fruit for YOUR glory alone.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” Galatians 5:22-26”
