“Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them.”

Singing Feather Pasifika

We are excited to announce Singing Feather Ministries is now establishing a presence in the Pacific Islands. Building on Singing Feather Ministries’ 17 years of commitment to indigenous peoples and First Nations communities, Singing Feather Pasifika aims to carry the same spirit through the Pacific Islands, serving, honoring, and empowering the Indigenous people of the region. We are excited to welcome Peni and Natalie Tapaweluwelu to our Singing Feather team!

“After visiting multiple times, our family truly feels the call of the Lord and have a renewed sense of purpose for this new chapter.

Our vision is to create and host a safe haven where those who are broken, hurt, or abandoned can be restored by their Heavenly Father to beauty, courage, peace, joy, and praise.

In addition, we’re excited to bring our love of worship through traditional music, art, and dance to collaborate with Fiji’s artists, carrying a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit to the cultural arts of the region. We believe there is a renaissance that will come from those who have been vulnerable, and as they step into their identity and freedom, choose fresh glorious praise of Father God through all art forms!

Together, we look forward to fostering collaborations that honor, bring hope, and release restoration among the diverse peoples we serve.

Join us in this journey as Singing Feather expands our commitment to serving the people of Turtle Island to the people of the Turtle Waters, empowering Indigenous Pacific communities.

Our Vision for Fiji

Fiji is wealthy with beauty, ripe with creativity, humble in royalty, its children pave a way for a generation of a thriving nation. It is at the brink of a Holy Renaissance, as the Lord is pouring out on those who call on His name.

Our vision is to support the legacy of this chiefly, warrior nation by helping to reconnect the dots between: Heaven and earth, Lomalagi and Vei Dela ni Yavu; Sons and Daughters to their Heavenly Father; Culture and family: Husbands and wives; Fathers and their children.

We believe this: When an individual is healthy and strong in their identity, it creates healthy families, and healthy families create healthy cities, and healthy cities create a healthy, THRIVING nation! Fiji needs whole fathers, they need whole mothers, and they need a healthy next generation of giant slayers that can carry the fresh movement of God!

Furthermore, our passion is to put on display the splendor and miraculous works of the Lord through arts and empower those we encounter to do the same. As a family, we get to catch this Holy wave and partner with what the Lord is doing already in Fiji! Our part is to usher in an empowerment of Renaissance creation. As artists, musicians, and dancers, our family is equipped for such a time as this.

The personal call on our family has always been to tell the stories and beauty of the Lord through our various art forms. Just as Miriam stood at the far edge of the Red Sea after crossing over, looking back at the season of trauma, she chose to pick up her tambourine, grab the women around her and lead her people wildly in song and dance! There is a fire in us to reignite the artists, the dancers, the inventors, builders and rebuilders, and the planters of the fields! The people of Fiji couldn’t be any better suited for “wild song and dance”! Let the Holy Fijian Renaissance begin!

We have the land, time to build!

Our 10 acre ministry property on the Island of Viti Levu is fully purchased! (“Purchased”, as a 50-year agricultural lease from Tribal owners, which is important to us that it stays in their hands.) This is HUGE and has taken literally years with many delays!

The Lord told us to feel the heartbeat of the land as we went. It was not just a physical check-in, but a spiritual scouting trip. It was the first time since it was really “ours” that we have set foot on the property. We did, but found some difficult “roadblocks.” The road that was cut to the property three years ago when we visited, was completely grown back, since its jungle and not been used. (That is being taken care of, praise the LORD!) Furthermore, the house we had stayed in was abandoned, boarded up, pathways indistinct, FULL of insects and surrounded by aggressive tropical overgrowth. Wow, not what we expected. As we took communion on the land and prayed with some close friends of ours, in our knee-high gum boots, smacking away hand-size mosquitos, we heard the Lord speak of the people that would be coming onto this land.

Untamed ones, abandoned ones, those whose hearts are choked out by intrusive “weeds”, stuck in darkness – unable to reach for the light, tormented by the noise of the enemy, in need of the Master Gardener, God Himself.

He spoke to us that we would learn through taming our literal overgrown jungle with care, hard work, patience, love and consistency, lots of extra grace, wisdom and discernment of God, how to work with the “Wild Ones” who would be attracted here. (I use “wild ones” here in a slightly different context than the vernacular of the modern Church. I mean those He loves and calls his own, but not yet untangled from darkness, caught in pain; similar to the “lost sheep.”) Our assignment is to host a haven where the loving presence of God resides, and He can do all the work needed as the Gardener of their Hearts, where they are not choked out by intrusions, but thriving and fruitful.
