No Leftovers

From the very beginning, food has been central to our ministry, not just as a necessity, but as a way to love people well.

Delivering food to families in need and helping to combat food insecurity has always been, and will always be, part of who we are. We’re especially drawn to those who fall through the cracks, the ones often overlooked. And we’re passionate about meeting those needs with excellence and integrity.

That means we don’t just give food, we give really good food. We feel strongly about this especially when serving indigenous communities. We believe that the bible is clear about giving honor where honor is due. As we serve First Nations people, we honor them as just that. The people who were first here. The original inhabitants and stewards of this land. So in light of that, we don’t want to give them the scraps from our table, the left overs, the food we don’t want. We want to honor them and give them the best we can in the most dignified way that we can. To not treat food as an act of charity, but as a gift from friends. Family.

Romans 13:7
“Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.”

That is why we endeavor to gift the BEST, organic, whole foods whenever possible. Whole grain bread. Real cheese. Nothing artificial. Frozen meats and vegetables. Real Milk. Eggs. Flour. Quality Oil. All of the essentials for meals like fry bread and traditional family dishes. Truly useful food, packaged with love and care.

We always ask how much space is in the freezer, so we can fill it. Because we believe in abundance, not bare minimum and a chance to say we did something good. And we know from experience, that when families receive more than they need, they share with others.

If we’er going to give, we’re going to give generously. This is generosity that multiplies.

In 2022, we were honored to help our friends at YWAM Tribal Winds open their first Food Pantry. We walked with them to secure a grant and helped facilitate their partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank of Arizona. And to support their ministry even further, we donated a Ford F550 flatbed truck with a lift gate, to make food and firewood deliveries possible and practical. This amazing truck was generously gifted to us during our time out there, and we knew that with their new food ministry they needed it. We have watched God do this time and time again, we have rarely bought and sold vehicles that are needed for ministry. Jesus provides for us and we partner with Him to provide what we don’t need anymore for others. It’s kingdom. It’s beautiful.

Partnership is one of our greatest values. Why? Because we are genuinely so much stronger and more effective when we work together. No competition. No division. The way Jesus intended in John 17.

When many hands come together, the work becomes light, and the impact becomes lasting. We like to feed hungry bellies…and support others doing good.
